Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Hukum Pidana Indonesia strictly rejects all forms of plagiarism, improper self-plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, manipulative citation practices, and any other forms of publication misconduct.

To uphold academic integrity and publication ethics, all submitted manuscripts are screened for text similarity using Turnitin. The maximum acceptable similarity index for a submitted manuscript is 20%.

If a manuscript exceeds this threshold or shows indications of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or other unethical practices, the Editorial Board reserves the right to take appropriate action based on the nature and extent of the similarity identified. Such action may include:

  1. returning the manuscript to the author for revision and resubmission;
  2. rejecting the manuscript immediately; or
  3. taking further editorial measures in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics and editorial policies.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and properly cite all quoted, paraphrased, and referenced materials. Proper quotation, citation, and acknowledgment of sources must be observed at all times.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  1. copying words, sentences, data, or ideas from another source without proper citation;
  2. paraphrasing another person’s work without adequate acknowledgment;
  3. presenting another person’s arguments, opinions, or theories as one’s own;
  4. submitting substantially similar manuscripts to more than one publication;
  5. reusing one’s own previously published work without proper disclosure or citation; and
  6. misrepresenting the originality of a manuscript in any form.
